30 Years, 30 people dead
( in a private collection, USA) The titles and the inspiration for this piece came from a man I knew in Providence, Rhode Island. he was the owner of a gay night club. I was — at the time — working in his coat room. He would come by and chat with me to pass the time. He once commented that for the thirty years he had been in the club business, every year he knew of someone who had been killed because they were gay. Or beaten to near death in a hate crime. A horrifying thought that stuck with me long after he said it.
